Gatliff, Gertie

Gertie Gibson Gatliff, 93, of of San Saba, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at her residence in San Saba. She was born May 1, 1915 in Ardmore, OK, the Daughter of Issac Lee Gibson and Lily Alma Arnold Gibson. On January 14, 1933 Gertie Trucellia Gibson and Clifton Edward Gatliff were married. She attended the 1st Assembly of God Church.

Gertie is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Mae Duncan of San Saba; Mary Frances Riser and her husband, Wayne of San Saba; Vinnia Lea Bailey and her husband, Charles of Llano; Linda Joyce Russell of Leander; Oneta Bernice Hoskins and her husband, Roland of San Saba; Brenda Schneider of Llano; Emma Lena Havins and her husband, Troy of Houston; her daughter-in-law, Mona Ray of Eagle Lake; her grandchildren, Jerry West and his wife, Diann of Lometa; Donald Carsten and his wife, Teri of Dublin; Jimmy Berrio and his wife, Brenda of Cherokee; Tawana Riggs and her husband, Dale of San Saba; Judy Wilke and her husband, Roland of Fredricksburg; Royce Daniels and his wife, June of Taylor; Joyce Simek of Round Rock; Barbara Howard of Llano; Shelly Lindsey and her husband, Doyle of Bend; Jimmy Bailey and his wife, Marcelle of Victoria; Charlie D. Bailey and his wife, Kelly of Burnet; Sammy Trucellia Bailey of Lampasas; Rebecca Ann and Troy Neville of Brazoria; Tammy Gardner and her husband, Greg of Mason; Sherry Russell of San Marcos; David Russell and his wife, Donna of Austin; Bozo Hoskins and his wife, Samantha of Llano; Bonnie Macmanus and her husband, Johnny of Arkansas; Danny Schneider and his wife, Cheryl of Hutto; Rhonda Schneider and her husband, Frank Floyd of Fredricksburg; Jimmie Havins and his wife, Karen of Houston; Robin Tubbs of Brady; Tamra Bielefeld of San Antonio; and numerous great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.

Gertie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton Edward Gatliff; one daughter, Gloria Beth Gatliff Lee; three sons, Clifton David Gatliff; Clayton Edward Gatliff; and Bobby Doyle Gatliff; grandsons, Jacky Carsten; Cloyce Daniels; Nathaniel Moses, and one great- great-granddaughter, Stephanie Dubose; her brother and sister, Baby Roger and Baby Bailey.

Services were held Friday, April 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Rev. George Wheeler officiating and Rev. Alan Berrio and Rev. Richard Vandeventer Assisting. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.

The family received friends, Thursday, April 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.
